The COVID-19 pandemic, followed by ongoing military conflicts, has fundamentally reshaped professional life, accelerating the shift toward digital environments. Many of the most widely used professional platforms and tools are developed by U.S.-based companies, while English remains the dominant language online, representing 25.9% of global internet users as of January 2020.

In response to these global changes, the Swiss Institute of Cultural Diplomacy has launched an international survey based on modern cross-cultural theories recommended by our scientific board, including the “7 Mental Images” framework developed by Huib Wursten. The aim is to better understand how the professional environment has evolved for cultural diplomats and international executives worldwide. The project is conducted in collaboration with leading partners, including the Diplomatic Society of St. Gabriel — one of the largest international communities of diplomats and consular professionals — as well as DIPLOMAT Magazine, CAWA Media PR Agency (Sweden), and a network of Swiss and international businesses and NGOs.

The results of the survey will be published and shared globally free of charge soon.
